Branch office for the NKBM bank in Ljubljana
Year of construction: 2010
Project group: Mojca ZAVASNIK, Jelka FRIC
In an exceptional location, in the middle of the historical city centre, NKBM opened a new branch, which deviates significantly from the established notion regarding bank branches. The interior design follows the new concept of bank branches, which brings the space closer to its users. The interior is no longer split into multiple smaller cubicles, but acts as a “consulting café”, where coffee is served and consulting services are provided, thus creating a relaxed atmosphere for communication. But communication doesn’t only take place between the people in the room; the interior itself responds to its surroundings, as the walls of the space are made from interactive LED light panels that are switched on and off by a sensor tracking the movements of people and the intensity of the light outside.
